Evidently some people create designs that don't stray too far from the official ones we see in the Pokémon franchise, however some designs are downright striking. Coming up with an original design of any sort is quite the opposite. I never thought of these as 'fake' in any way. While that's an interesting tidbit of information you didn't particularly need, I want to press a point on the actual name people give this sub-genre of artwork. An ex girlfriend of mine took to calling them 'Fauxkémon', which sounds great when you hear it in person but doesn't quite translate to screen as well as 'Fakemon' does. I want to premise this by saying that I adore some Fakemon designs. 'Will there be any fakemon?' and 'Why isn't there any fakemon?' being the two questions I hope to approach in this post. There is a question that gets posed to our team quite a lot.
The game is not affiliated with Nintendo/GAMEFREAK/The Pokémon Company, we just love Pokémon and making games. The game will follow a non-traditional storyline introducing RPG mechanics, a multi-choice storyline, moral ambiguous gameplay, rich characters, new mega evolutions and forms and much more. Pokémon: Phoenix Rising is a non-profit fan-made game created using RPG Maker.
